Why is the geo-location detected not where I am currently based?

Puffin leverages our servers in the USA and Singapore to improve the user’s web browsing experience.

The resulting side effect is that websites receive the IP address of our servers, instead of the IP of your actual whereabouts.

Although Puffin passes your IP to websites via X-Forwarded-For, those that do not use this standard cannot accurately detect your region.
