On Puffin Secure Browser version 7.8.x, files are downloaded to your selected cloud storage services first. The cloud services will then scan the files for viruses and malware. When the safety of the downloaded files is guaranteed, you can then sync the files to your device using the cloud storage providers' client apps.
On Puffin Secure Browser version 7.9.x onwards, downloading to local storage is allowed. If the Puffin Secure Browser on your device was activated with your corporate email address, downloading files may be blocked by your administrator.
Please consult your administrator for details.
When you visit a website via Puffin, Puffin server retrieves the webpage from the designated URL.
The webpage was then processed and rendered via the browser rendering engine on the Puffin server.
After the webpage was rendered, it will be converted into a compressed Puffin format.
The compressed copy, where it was much smaller than the original webpage, will be transmitted to the Puffin client on your device.
Videos and Flash content will not be compressed.

Puffin Cloud Browser is a remote client. The website contents displayed in Puffin are actually executed on our servers.
Please ensure that the following IP addresses are not blocked by your Proxy, firewall, or antivirus software:
Puffin leverages our servers in the USA and Singapore to improve the user's web browsing experience'.
The side effect is that the websites receive the Puffin server's IP rather than the IP of your current device.
Although Puffin passes your IP to websites via X-Forwarded-For, some websites do not support this standard and cannot accurately detect your region.
When you browse under Incognito mode, Puffin does not save your browsing history or any information entered in forms. Cookies and site data are deleted when you leave Incognito mode.

Step 1. Download Puffin Cloud Learning system image:
Multiple language version
Step 2. Writing the image to the SD card:
You will need to use an image writing tool to install the image you have downloaded on your SD card.
Etcher is a graphical SD card writing tool that works on Mac OS, Linux and Windows, and is the easiest option for most users. Etcher also supports writing images directly from the zip file, without any unzipping required.
To write your image with Etcher:
- Download Etcher and install it.
- Connect an SD card reader with the SD card inside.
- Open Etcher and select the PuffinInternetTerminal.zip file from your hard drive.
- Select the SD card you wish to write your image to.
- Click 'Flash!' to begin writing data to the SD card.
If you're not using Etcher, you'll need to unzip .zip downloads to get the image file (.img) to write to your SD card.
Step 3. Install Puffin Cloud Learning on a Raspberry Pi:
Insert the SD card into a Raspberry Pi and complete the initial installation.
For optimal speed and performance, we recommend enabling the GL driver on your Raspberry Pi 3B+ device. After enabling the GL driver, Puffin can use additional system resources and provide better experience.
Follow the steps below to enable the GL driver:
1. Open terminal and run this command: sudo raspi-config
2. Select “7 Advanced Options”.
3. Select “A7 GL Driver”.
4. Select “G1 GL (Full KMS) OpenGL desktop driver with full KMS”.
5. Select “OK” -> “Finish”.
6. Reboot device.
We recognize seats in your license by individual devices.
If you reinstall the Raspbian OS, reinstall Puffin, or replaced the SD card from the Raspberry Pi, you will need to activate Puffin again.
Since it's the same device, it won't take another seat in your license.
Note: We strongly advise NOT to change the hardware serial-number and other related information. Once the information is changed, our license system may consider the hardware model a different device and count it against your license.
Puffin automatically shows the most visited sites when opening a new tab. To remove them, click the Close icon on the top-right corner of the website thumbnail.
